All set to be the global leader, Toyota must consolidate its share in China
The unthinkable may be imminent. Toyota has already toppled Ford from the number two slot in the US market. The next target is global leadership. In 2004, GM manufactured 8.7 million cars globally. This year, Toyota’s worldwide production is 8.03 million units. Since GM sales are flagging & Toyota has grown by 10% in this year’s first half, analysts are confidently predicting that Toyota can even dethrone GM as the world’s top car company in 2006.
